About this site
Aquarium is a small, sheltered reef south-east of Havelock in the Andaman Islands, about 12 km from Havelock. The water is almost always free of current and visibility is excellent, with depths of 8 to 14 metres.
Batfish, butterfly fish and crocodile fish move through the bright coral beds, and the reef is home to Moorish idols, moray eels, scorpionfish and nudibranchs. The reef tapers gently to sand, where stingrays are sometimes spotted, and seahorses and fringe-lip flathead turn up now and then. Crown of Thorns starfish, spiky and invasive, are also present on the site.
