Barranco Seco is a boat dive off the high cliffs of Los Gigantes on Tenerife. The area combines sheer vertical walls, sandy bottoms and volcanic formations, and from about 12 metres down there are cracks, caves and passages that shelter moray eels, Canarian spiny lobsters, octopus and large groupers.
With luck, divers may also see rays and angel sharks, and chucho sharks in season. Visibility is usually excellent, and light filtering down past the cliffs gives the dive a distinctive atmosphere.
