Beangabang is a black sand muck dive in Beangabang Bay at Alor, Indonesia, a bay that feels like a step back in time. Its southerly position means divers often have the whole bay to themselves, and it is a place for macro photographers.
The critters here include ghost pipefish, pipefish, pipehorses, seahorses, frogfish, pegasus sea moths, nudibranchs, ribbon eels, and several octopus species, including mimics. Between dives you can walk up the beach to the geothermal hot springs during the surface interval.
