About this site

Blue Lagoon is one of the popular sites at Padang Bai, on the east coast of Bali. White sand and clear blue water draw snorkellers as well as divers, and it is only about five minutes by boat from the Padang Bai harbour, either by speedboat or by a traditional jukung.

The bottom is sand and reef at 5 to 20 metres, with visibility of 5 to 20 metres and a moderate current. Beginners to advanced divers can dive it, and the water is 26 to 30°C. In the dry season temperatures swing and can fall below 25°C.

Stonefish, frogfish and rays are among the animals people go looking for, together with scorpionfish, ghost pipefish, groupers and nudibranchs. Divers can take it at any time of year.
