Bobs Place is a muck-diving site on a sandy slope with virtually no coral growth, located in the Dauin area of the Philippines. Rather than reef structure, the bottom is open sand that conceals a surprising variety of small, cryptic animals for those willing to search carefully.
The terrain is a gradual sandy slope formation, and the site also sits adjacent to a dry riverbed where large boulders and rocks have accumulated, creating sheltered pockets that harbour crabs, eels, and urchins alongside the sand-dwelling critters.
Bobs Place is well regarded as a macro and critter dive, with frogfish, ghost pipefish, seahorses, ambon scorpionfish, octopuses, and harlequin shrimps all recorded at the site. It is particularly suited to underwater photographers looking to find unusual and rarely seen subjects.
