Dived here today? How were conditions vs. what we showed?
Cabbage Patch lies off West Island in the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, an isolated Australian territory in the eastern Indian Ocean. Diving here depends on boat access from the small local community, given the atoll's remote position far from the Australian mainland and Christmas Island. The reef takes its name from the cabbage-like coral formations found there, and divers have reported a varied reef fish community including bluestriped snapper, lemonpeel angelfish, ornate and threadfin butterflyfish, palenose parrotfish, powder blue tang, and whitecheek surgeonfish, along with brown land crabs and strawberry hermit crabs around the margins.
