Cala Vidre is a small bay at L'Ametlla de Mar on the Catalan coast, used for shore snorkelling, entered from the beach. A typical route runs about 300 m parallel to the rocks of the cove at about 5 m depth.
North of the beach, toward Cap de Sant Jordi, the route passes a posidonia meadow mixed with rocks that fall into the water from the cliff. To the south the route follows the rocks, with Cystoseira algae that look like small trees swaying in the waves, across sand and rock to La Dormidera, named after a large group of small sleeping fish (Atherina boyeri) found there. Fish, octopus and starfish are what you see, and the animals change from day to day.
