Charlwood is a wreck at 50 11.431N, 04 22.106W. It is an iron sailing barque, built at Sunderland in 1877, about 60 metres long and 10 metres wide, and it sits upright on a seabed at 63 metres with the wreck standing 5 metres high.
The barque sank in 1891 after a collision while sailing from Antwerp to Valparaiso. Much of the wreck stands well clear of the seabed, although towards the stern it has collapsed. The bow has broken off ahead of the first bulkhead, the base of the bowsprit lies in the debris, barrels rest on the starboard side and a rudder is partly buried under wreckage at the stern.
The holds are packed with Victorian glassware, including tumblers, wine glasses, decanters and plates. Wrasse are plentiful around the wreck and a conger or two lives in it, and visibility can be good.
