El Cabron is a shore dive in the Arinaga marine reserve on Gran Canaria, rated for advanced divers. Entry and exit can be difficult.
A rocky platform at 12 metres drops to a sandy bottom at around 23 metres, within a protected area of cliffs, caves, arches and tunnels. The profiles are multi-level, so careful air use can give dives of 40 minutes or more.
Angel sharks, several species of ray, large groupers and barracuda live here, and huge schools of roncadores cover the sea floor. If you can, kneel in the middle of the shoal and watch them swim around you.
