Elmo's Wall

Elmo's Wall is a beginner-rated wall dive on the East End of Grand Cayman, in the Frank Sound zone. The mooring pin is at 19 m (63 ft) and the maximum depth is about 30 m (100 ft).

The wall is a narrow ridge running east to west, with a drop on both sides. On the inside the drop ends at a sandy bottom at 21 m (70 ft), and on the outside it falls into the deep. The site is protected from wind and waves, which makes it a calm choice on windier days.

Start the dive with the swim-through right below the boat, which has straight walls and a flat ceiling like a corridor. Avoid following the contours of the sandy bottom too far, as it is easy to end up deeper than planned. Beyond the swim-through the wall carries abundant coral and sponge growth. The dive is relaxed and exploratory.
