About this site
Es Pallaret is a small island off Punta Rovira in Ibiza, about 500 m from the coast. The dive circles the island and is reached by boat. Swimming across from the coast is not advised, because of passing boats and the currents that cross the channel between the two points.
Anchoring: the best place to anchor is south of the island, since the depth and the lack of a platform to the north make it harder.
The circuit is about 300 m and takes around 45 minutes, going anticlockwise from the anchor point (south, east, north, west). Keeping the rock wall close as a reference makes it easy to stay oriented. A depth of about 20 m is recommended, and the whole southern end sits around 20 m. In places the platform drops to almost 50 m, and the maximum depth for the route is given as 30 m. A Vespa motorbike lies at 21 m and is one of the highlights.

Past the southern end the platform disappears and the deepest part begins. Shoals of pelagic fish heading to the coast pass here, most often barracuda and amberjack, with the odd adult grouper rising from deeper water. Shoals of dentex can appear close to the northern end.
