Fish Tank is a reef dive on the East End of Grand Cayman, along Queen's Highway. The mooring pin sits in 11 m (35 feet) and the maximum depth is 18 m (60 feet), with the boat ride from the dock taking about 25 minutes. It is friendly to snorkellers too.
The name suits the place, since the edge of the miniwall draws a crowd of fish and is a busy hive of activity. A short way east of the pin is a large formation of pillar coral, 8 to 10 feet (about 2.5 to 3 m) tall, an old, slow-growing colony that should never be touched. Big schools of French and bluestriped grunts sit in the small grooves east of the pillars. Patient divers can search the shallow hardpan for lettuce sea slugs, which are only an inch or two long.
