Fukui Point is the only sloping reef dive in Bunaken National Park, where all the other dive sites are walls. It is named for a Japanese woman who found it many years ago. The maximum depth is about 20 metres.
The dive starts among artificial reef formations at 3 to 8 metres, set up for coral propagation after part of the reef was destroyed by illegal fishing, and the damage can still be seen. The artificial reef now attracts a school of snappers that stay in the shallows and under the mooring line. Further on, the reef is covered in healthy hard and soft corals, and the barrel sponges often have turtles resting in or on them. At 18 to 20 metres, depending on the tide, there is a large giant clam.
