Giftun Soraya — also known as Ham Ham, Police Station, Small Giftun Drift, and Pierre's Hill — is a drift dive site along the wall of Small Giftun, part of the Giftun Islands, the closest island group to Hurghada in the Egyptian Red Sea. The site is reached by day boat, with a journey of over 30 minutes from Hurghada.
The terrain is a wall dropping to a maximum of 40 m, with most of the action concentrated on a plateau between 15 and 25 m. Notable features include a gorgonian forest at around 20 m, caves, and huge gorgonians; a deep tunnel also exists but lies beyond recreational limits.
Marine life regularly seen at the site includes the gorgonian forest itself and abundant fish. Napoleon wrasse, turtles, barracuda, and tuna are occasionally sighted but are never guaranteed.
The dive is entered as a drift: divers drop in near the island police station and drift along the wall, ending at the Giftun Soraya moorings where the boat collects them. Current is variable. Visibility is typically around 30 m. The site is rated beginner and is suitable for Open Water and Advanced divers alike, though the deep tunnel should be avoided as it exceeds recreational depth limits.
