Gold Chain Reef is a sloping reef wall in the French Cay area of Roatan, where the reef top lies between 3 and 9 metres (10 to 30 feet). The wall fingers out to a large sand slope, and its top is thickly populated with elkhorn, staghorn and lettuce corals.
Surge can be felt over the reef top, so divers should keep an eye out for it. The site is also used for snorkelling from a boat.
