About this site

Hanging Gardens is a dive site on Sipadan Island, Malaysia's only oceanic island, situated along the island's dramatic drop-offs where coral formations cascade down a steep wall.

The site is a wall dive, with sharks regularly seen cruising along the wall during dives. Grey reef sharks appear here, often deeper or around cleaning stations, and hammerheads make occasional appearances.

Conditions at Sipadan, including Hanging Gardens, are best from April to December. Visibility is great, and the site is rated as advanced difficulty.
