Hospital Point is a reef dive at the north tip of Isla Solarte, about five minutes from Isla Colon in Bocas del Toro, Panama. It is one of the best known dive sites in the area and works for snorkelers as well as divers.
The reef starts at about 9 ft (3 m) and drops past 50 ft (15 m), with an average depth of 50 ft (14 m) and a maximum of 60 ft (18 m). Brain coral and lettuce coral form a wall of caverns and ledges. A shallow sandy bay just over 6 ft (2 m) deep suits beginners practising open-water skills.
Colourful coral, sponges and many reef fish live on the wall. At night lobster, hermit crabs, rays and nurse sharks come out.
The site is open to all skill levels and is a favourite for night dives. Water is clear.
