The Hovercraft is a wreck dive off Panama City Beach, Florida, lying in about 74 feet (22.6 metres) of water. It is a 100 foot (30 metre) long Navy hovercraft that sank in 1985, and the dive is known locally as the Llcat Hovercraft site.
The twin aluminum pontoons are still in good shape and rise about 10 feet (3 metres) off the ocean floor. The hovercraft is unusual, but it probably would not be a feature dive on its own, except that it sits so close to the Black Bart wreck. The Black Bart, a 180 foot (55 metre) vessel sunk in 1993 as an artificial reef, lies close by.
Divers can swim laps around the structure and float up and down its stairs, which makes it a fun spot for buoyancy practice.
