Irarakandy is a shipwreck just off the coast near Nilaveli in the Trincomalee area of Sri Lanka, lying at a shallow depth of 6 to 10 metres. The ship is believed to be an old European steamship that sank many years ago, and it is now encrusted with corals, forming an artificial reef.
Divers can explore the remains of the hull and the scattered structures. Reef fish, soft corals and anemones live on the wreck, and the water is calm with good visibility.
