Ita is a shore dive on the West Izu Peninsula, found by divers about 20 years ago and now a popular point. It faces the open ocean, so the water is extremely clear, and the bottom contours are good.
A gentle slope leads to a sudden drop-off to 35 metres (115 feet). Countless fish live along the boundary between the Gorota rocks and the wide sandy areas, and from the bottom you can look up and see migrating fish silhouetted near the surface. Soft corals and whip corals grow at depth.
From autumn to winter visibility is often more than 30 metres (100 feet). In spring the "Manbo" moon fish can be seen at the outside and cape points.
