Kiwi Reef is a coral reef in Aqaba, Jordan, named after a diver from New Zealand who discovered it. A grass slope leads down to a field of small pinnacles at the bottom, with sandy patches between them. The pinnacles are a breeding ground for juvenile fish, and each dive turns up something new. It is a favourite with underwater photographers and suits night dives.
Depths run from about 5 m down to 18 m on the main reef, and the water is calm with a healthy coral cover. The pinnacles are about 15 m from shore, reached from the beach or by boat. Moray eels, butterflyfish and octopuses are among the residents. Shallow, calm water makes it suitable for beginners and training dives, and water temperature is 21 to 27°C.
