La Esperanza is a deeper coral reef dive at Cabo Pulmo, at a depth of 23 to 26 metres (75-85 ft). It is known for its deep coral formations and clear visibility, and it suits experienced divers.
Groupers, snappers, turtles, stingrays and several kinds of eels, including green, zebra, fine-spotted and jewel eels, are common here. Mobula rays and guitar fish are seasonal visitors, and the mobula rays are often seen in spring and summer. Tiger sharks and bull sharks are possible encounters. A torch helps bring out the colours of the reef and the hidden eels.
