Le Polynesian is a French passenger ship wreck off Marsaskala, Malta, about 7 nautical miles east of Valletta Port. She was sunk by a torpedo on 10 August 1918.
The wreck lies at a 45 degree angle. She sits at 45 m at her highest point and 65 m at her deepest, with an average dive depth of about 50 m. It is a boat dive.
The anchor and front deck cannon are still clearly visible. The cargo bay is full of motorbike tyres and pipes. The engine room in the middle section took the most damage from the torpedo. The stern has suffered some structural damage, but the deck cannon and propeller are intact. Baths, bed frames and light fixtures can be seen under the deck in the passenger area.
Le Polynesian is for experienced divers only. She is exposed to strong currents and lies at a depth only technical divers can reach.
