The M/V Castor is a wreck off Boynton Beach, Florida, reached by boat. It was built in 1970 at the Bodewes Shipyard in the Netherlands as the dry cargo carrier Dorothee Bos, and later changed names many times. She was sunk as an artificial reef on 14 December 2001.
The ship is 258 ft long, 37 ft wide and 50 ft tall, and sits upright with the bow pointing south, rising to within 60 ft (18 m) of the surface. The main deck is at 90 ft (27 m) and the maximum depth is 110 ft (33.5 m). All hatches and doors have been removed, which makes penetration easy. The Captain Tony wreck lies about 600 ft away, and the Castor sits around 500 ft east-northeast of the Budweiser Bar wreck.
Goliath groupers gather here every fall, between August and October, with at least 30 to 50 sitting on the bow or along the sides. They are a protected species in Florida waters.
The current can get quite strong. It is rated advanced, and divers should carry a signalling device in case they are swept off the wreck.
