About this site
Manta Road lies off Pohnpei, one of the four states of the Federated States of Micronesia, in the western Pacific Ocean. Dive sites along this coast are typically reached by boat from harbors near the main island, cutting through the fringing reef and barrier reef systems that surround Pohnpei. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 24 metres and is rated an advanced dive, with divers having reported currents running up to 7 knots. As the name suggests, manta rays have been spotted here, along with a mix of reef fish including fusiliers, humpback snapper, bream, parrotfish of several kinds, unicornfish, surgeonfish, and yellowfin goatfish.
