Marie Pampoen is a small local sand beach in Curaçao, lined with fishing boats, with an easy entry and one of the island's best dive and snorkel locations. The reef is large, healthy and lively, with a wide variety of hard and soft corals and sponges, and plenty of macro life. It is an excellent site for a night dive as well.
Snapper, moonfish, parrotfish, angelfish, grunts and moray eels are typical, and a coral restoration project has outplanted corals here. Car Pile, a section known for car wrecks dumped in the 1960s, lies from 12 to 50 metres and holds complete cars as well as doors and tyres, with building waste around 20 metres.
