Moidart is a wreck dive located west of Portland. The vessel was a Victorian steamship that was blown in two by a torpedo from UC-77, which detonated just aft of the engine room. The forward section lies upright, with a raised forecastle, cargo winches, mast, and spare anchor visible on deck. The stern section lies to port, connected to the forward section by a debris trail.
The wreck sits at a maximum depth of 35.5 metres, with the boilers reached at 33–35 m. The site offers excellent structural interest throughout, and the two separated sections give the dive good variety and layout to explore.
Fish life is consistently good around the boilers, making this a rewarding dive for those interested in marine activity alongside wreck structure. The site is rated advanced level, appropriate for divers with the experience and certification to handle deeper wreck diving.
