Poopoh

Poopoh Gereja (Poopoh Church) is a reef dive site located about 2 minutes by boat from shore, positioned facing the church at Poopoh. It suits beginners, photographers, and advanced divers alike, and is also good for snorkelling.

The reef begins as a rich, colourful plateau at 3–5 m, then continues down a gentle white sandy slope. Average depth runs 10–15 m, though divers can descend further to find coral boulders with fauna around them. Hard and soft corals are healthy and abundant, including tabular corals, Acropora, foliose corals, brain corals, Porites, and a wide variety of sponges.

Reef life is rich across the site. Regular sightings include scorpion leaf fish, spotted box fish, Falco hawkfish, lionfish, lobsters, and groupers, with Humphead Napoleon wrasse and bluefin trevally appearing in deeper water around the boulders. Mandarin fish are also found here, making the site a well-known spot for a sunset dive around 5 PM or a boat night dive.
