Sand Chute is a break in the reef that leads down to the Tongue of the Ocean, and it is used for deep dives. Turtles, barracuda and a very large stone crab have been seen here.
The bottom is sand and the current is strong. Divers have also reported lobster, parrotfish, groupers, blue tang and jellyfish on the reef around the chute.
Confirmed by our research team, reported by independent divers, or observed nearby via iNaturalist — each entry is labelled with its source.
