Santa Rita Canyons lies off Ambergris Caye, along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef on Belize's northern coast, reached by a short boat ride from San Pedro out to the reef line running parallel to the caye. Divers here have reported Atlantic blue tang, Atlantic ghost crab, sergeant majors, nurse sharks, queen angelfish, southern stingrays, and striped parrotfish moving through the canyon-like reef formations the site is named for.
