SD Point, short for Sekolah Dasar, is a drift dive along the northern coastline of Nusa Penida, Indonesia, just off the dive centre that uses it. A continuous reef system runs along it with sprawling coral gardens.
Depth runs from 5 to 30 metres and visibility is 20 to 35 metres. The current is moderate to strong, so expect a drift, and the dive is listed for beginners to advanced. Thermoclines are possible, and a current reversal can come before a strong downward current.
Turtles, reef sharks and small critters are the highlights, with colourful coral formations. Mola mola are seen in season, from around July to mid-November. The shallow coral formations also make a good snorkelling spot.
