South Point is a reef of broken ground at 10 to 15 m in King George Sound, off Albany in Western Australia, and a nursery ground holding thousands of juvenile fish. The dive is rated intermediate.
Juvenile old wife, bight redfish, moonlighter and breaksea cod fill the reef. Australian sea lions, New Zealand fur seals and dolphins work the nearby islands. This is temperate Southern Ocean diving, with water averaging 20.5 C in summer and 13.6 C in winter, and visibility of 10 to 15 m. Swell decides the day more than anything else.
