About this site
Steps is a reef at Ponta Malongane, about 1.5 km long and filled with caves, ledges and colour. Depths run from 12 to 15 metres, with an average of 12 metres, and the site suits divers of every level.
The marine life is plentiful, and large colonies of kingfish are a chance sighting. Rays, turtles, scorpionfish, eels and soft corals are all to be expected.
Plate corals are abundant, with Christmas tree worms in bright colours. Regular residents include wrasse, butterflyfish, knifejaws, surgeonfish, triggerfish and frogfish, also known as giant anglerfish.
