Sunken Island, also known as Gili Anyaran, is a submerged island located east of Gili Renggit in the Sekotong area of Indonesia. The site is a sandy slope with rocks and an underwater wall, and it hosts two dive sites across its coral formations. The terrain features a plateau beginning in the shallows and descending along a slope and wall, with a maximum depth of 16 metres. The reef is covered in both soft and hard corals, providing a varied underwater landscape.
The reef is populated with trumpet fish, anemone fish, groupers, humped parrotfish, cuttlefish, octopus, giant anemones, and crocodile fish. White-tip reef sharks and both green and hawksbill turtles are regularly encountered, particularly on the plateau. Afternoon dives offer a distinctive light and colour spectrum across the reef.
Conditions at Sunken Island include a water temperature of 27–29°C. Strong currents can be present, particularly on the eastern side, and divers should be prepared for these before entering. Despite the potential for current, the site is considered suitable for beginners at its maximum depth of 16 metres.
