Sunrise is a reef dive site characterised by coral bommies, sponges, and reef fish that give it a colourful, if relatively compact, character. The site runs from 10 m to 25 m depth, with the deeper end meeting a drop-off.
The terrain is moderate in extent and is used primarily as a training site, making it suitable for all divers including those undertaking courses. The shallower areas feature the coral bommies and associated reef life, while the drop-off at 25 m marks the deeper boundary of the dive.
Eagle rays are occasionally seen cruising past the drop-off, and the reef holds an assortment of reef fish and sponges alongside the coral structure.
