About this site
The Abyss is a dive site characterised by a drop-off that descends into deep water, with a depth range of 12 m to 40 m and a sandy bottom. The terrain features sand fingers extending out over the edge, giving divers the sensation of peering into a bottomless abyss below.
The site is rated suitable for all divers, including beginners, and the mix of depths means less experienced divers can explore the shallower sand finger areas while more confident divers push deeper toward 40 m.
Marine life at The Abyss includes sharks and eagle rays that cruise the area occasionally, turtles, and parrotfish, which are known to congregate here for spawning.
