The Pyramids is a shore dive at Amed on the east coast of Bali, with a view of Mount Batur from the beach. You swim out past the black sand to reach the reef, where a series of about 30 artificial reef pyramids stand covered in life, alongside some natural reef. Maximum depth is 23 m (75 ft), and the site is rated advanced, with light current and great visibility.
Before reaching the reef you may see blue-spotted stingrays on the sand. Around the pyramids a moray eel can be found hanging under one structure, an octopus can be seen changing colour under a rock, and emperor angelfish are around. Out in the blue there are trevally, and a reef patch held pipefish and Moorish idols. Amed is known for its turtles.
Entry is from the shore, and parking is on the street at the head of the alley leading down to the beach.
