Tongo Point is a reef wall dive site located in Moalboal, known for its diverse marine life and relaxed character. The wall runs to a maximum depth of 28 m, with the shallowest point at around 10 m, making it accessible to divers of all levels from beginners upward. The site is also particularly noted for its electric clams.
The terrain is a wall dive with cracks and less illuminated sections worth exploring with a flashlight. Nitrox is recommended to extend bottom time along the wall. Morning dives generally offer better visibility and more predictable conditions, and planning the dive at high tide makes entry and exit easier.
Marine life at Tongo Point includes colorful nudibranchs, electric clams, pipefish, lionfish, frogfish, a variety of reef fish, groupers, sea snakes, and both green and hawksbill turtles, with the turtles being a reliable highlight. Occasional sightings of additional species have also been reported.
Access is by boat, with a short banca ride of around 10 to 20 minutes to reach the site. The dive suits all experience levels, from beginners to advanced, and the site is particularly rewarding for underwater photographers given the variety of small and colorful subjects along the wall.
