Turtle Rock lies in the Pistol Bay area near Paphos in Cyprus, a dive site that local divers count among their favourites. Many swim-throughs make it a place where divers want to spend as long as they can, and a turtle may swim past the rock formation that gives the site its name.
On the way in and out of the Pistol Bay area is a swim-through called Champagne Rock, which feels like diving through a large open fireplace. Divers pass over layers of sedimentary rock that narrow towards the rear into a chimney. The porous roof lets exhaled air trickle through, producing a stream of bubbles.
