About this site
Abu Dabab lies on Egypt's Red Sea coast in the Marsa Alam area, a shallow bay over a sandy bottom. The maximum depth is only around 10 metres, yet it is rated an advanced dive despite that shallow profile. Dugongs are a regular presence here, grazing over the seagrass, and divers have also reported whale shark sightings in the bay.
