About this site
Alad Island sits off the southern coast of Romblon province, in the Sibuyan Sea area of the Philippines, and is reached by boat from the larger island of Romblon or nearby Tablas. The waters surrounding this small island are part of a marine protected area established by the local community, and the Alad Sanctuary Garden reef within it is a shallow site, with a maximum depth of around 10 metres, rated as a beginner dive. Divers here have reported frogfish, mandarinfish, nudibranchs, pipefish, sweetlips, and trevally along the reef.
