Ammo Jetty, short for Ammunition Jetty, is a shore dive among jetty pylons in Perth. Its depth has historically reached only 8 to 9 metres, which suited newly certified divers who wanted time to relax and build confidence.
The pylons give a simple navigation line: follow one side, explore slowly, and come back along the other. Seahorses, squid, cuttlefish, nudibranchs, octopuses, hermit crabs and many small fish live around them.
The bottom is silty and stirs up easily, so slow fin movements and good buoyancy protect visibility and the life on the pylons.
The jetty and the water beside and beneath it are closed after storm damage in 2026. Diving, swimming and snorkelling are not permitted while the closure stands, and a new jetty with better diver access is planned.
