About this site
Anchor Bay sits on the northwest coast of Malta near Mellieħa, in the same cove as the film set built for the 1980 movie Popeye, now known as Popeye Village. The bay is a sheltered inlet on the rocky Mellieħa coastline, backed by cliffs typical of this stretch of the island's shore. The dive here is rated beginner, reaching a maximum depth of around 14 metres, making it an easy, sheltered entry into the local wall and rocky terrain.
