About this site
Aquarium sits within Vaavu Atoll, one of the smaller atolls in the central Maldives, reached by boat from the local islands or from liveaboards transiting the atoll chains east of Malé. Vaavu is known generally for its channels and reef passes connecting the atoll's interior lagoon to open ocean, and Aquarium is dived as a drift site along this kind of terrain. It reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have reported bannerfish and clownfish here, though the reef life at this depth and current is likely broader than that.
