About this site
Asteris Reef lies off Kefalonia in the Ionian Sea, known for its dramatic underwater cliffs and vibrant marine life. The site features steep drop-offs covered in colorful sponges and gorgonians, with frequent sightings of groupers, barracuda, and occasional turtles. Clear waters and mild currents make it ideal for divers of all levels. The reef's pinnacles attract schools of anthias and damselfish, while deeper sections reveal hidden caves. Visibility often exceeds 30 meters, with water temperatures ranging from 18°C in winter to 26°C in summer. The site offers a mix of wall dives and sandy plateaus.
