About this site
Bajo Caldas is a reef formation off Fuerte Island, on Colombia's Caribbean coast in the Bolívar department south of Cartagena. Dive operators serving the island typically run boats out from nearby coastal towns such as Rincón del Mar or from Cartagena itself. Divers here have reported a range of hard corals on the bajo, including greater star coral, lettuce coral, massive starlet coral, mountainous star coral, mustard hill coral, and symmetrical brain coral, giving the site its reef character.
