About this site
Balmorhea State Park sits in the Trans-Pecos region of West Texas, near the town of Toyahvale in Reeves County. The park is built around San Solomon Springs, a natural desert spring impounded into a large concrete-lined pool that stays a constant temperature year round. Divers and snorkelers share the pool with native fish and turtles, and visibility is typically very good since the water comes straight from the spring source. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 8 metres near the spring openings, with shallower areas elsewhere, and is rated a beginner dive.
