About this site

Banana Bay lies along Racha Noi Island, south of Racha Yai and about a 90 minute boat ride from Chalong Pier on Phuket's southern coast. Racha Noi is less visited than its neighboring island and sits in the open water of the Andaman Sea, where dive operators from Phuket run day trips and liveaboard stops to its various bays and points. The site sits over a reef bottom to a maximum depth of around 25 metres, with light current and great visibility, making it a beginner-friendly dive. Bannerfish and leopard sharks are regularly seen here, and divers have also reported barracuda, eagle rays, frogfish, ghost pipefish, garden eels, octopus, manta rays, and a range of reef fish including parrotfish, snapper, fusiliers, triggerfish, pufferfish and scorpionfish.
