About this site
Bangug Island lies off Romblon in the island province of the same name, in the Sibuyan Sea region of central Philippines, with dive sites here typically reached by small boat from the town of Romblon or nearby coastal barangays. The reef around Bangug tops out at a shallow, beginner-friendly depth of about 7 metres, with light current and good visibility over a reef bottom. Divers have reported a wide range of life here, including angelfish, clownfish, parrotfish, sweetlips, and moray eels on the reef itself, along with occasional sightings of larger species such as eagle rays, manta rays, sea turtles, dugongs, and even whale sharks.
