Batu Belah

Batu Belah lies among the Anambas Islands, a remote archipelago in the Riau Islands province of Indonesia, set in the South China Sea between the Malay Peninsula and Borneo. The site takes its name from the rock formations typical of this island group, granite outcrops rising from open water far from major population centers. The dive sits over a reef bottom to a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated beginner, though currents here run strong and divers have also reported large swells, surges, and unpredictable currents at times. Fusiliers, snapper, and nudibranchs are among the marine life divers commonly report, and there have been sightings of manta rays, mola mola, and the rare rhinopias as well.
